Lot of 6 antique hardcover books by G.A. Henty. These books were all published between the late 1800s and early 1900s, and are in varying conditions. Please see notes:
At the Point of the Bayonet - This illustrated, hardcover 1st edition, is ex-library, but beautifully so. It was given to the Jackson, NH Library in 1901 by Mrs. J Blair Scribner (Lucy Skidmore Scribner, widow of the former president of Scribner Publisher) on December 21, 1901, as stated by two lovely bookplates on the inside page.
This copy has seen some miles. The binding is broken, and pages intact, but loose.
The Young Buglers - published by A.L. Burt, with an inscription "Warren Doolittle, Christmas 1898, Love, Mr. Morris" inside.
This edition has a cover that is tan with red and black graphics. The book is in reasonable condition for something so old. The pages are all intact and the binding though loose, is present. NOTE: this copy may be an unauthorized pirated edition, one that was published in the United States but was not sanctioned by the copyright owner.
