When I got married, my now-husband and I made a list of our favorite books and then spent a year collecting them from used bookstores around New England.

We created a custom bookplate and then piled the books in stacks on each table at the reception. Guests could take 1 or more of them home at the end of the night.

It was a labor of love and devotion that we had the time for. Not everyone has that luxury.
